This illustrates an article by Simon Cox about a conference sponsored by George Soros, aimed at changing the current economic thinking.
Explanation of the two mountains motif in the background: economists have sweated their way quite far up one mountain. But now thanks to the crisis, they realise they should be on the other mountain. The problem is that to get there they'll first have to lose a lot of altitude, in other words: conventional economics is now quite sophisticated. But it is fundamentally headed in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, it will first have to lose a lot of its sophistication, before it can start clawing its way up the other peak. (199)
